L’arbitre Omar Artan s’exprime après son refus aux USA
Élu meilleur arbitre d’Afrique en 2025, le Somalien Omar Artan a atterri à Istanbul après avoir été refusé d’entrée aux États-Unis, où il devait officier.
Malgré cette situation difficile, il a tenu à exprimer sa profonde gratitude :
« Je me sens très bien à présent. Je voulais remercier la FIFA de m’avoir soutenu tout le long, ainsi que le peuple somalien. Donc je suis très reconnaissant envers la FIFA et envers la CAF aussi. » Un grand professionnalisme de la part de l’arbitre international, soutenu par toute sa communauté.

Voted Africa’s best referee in 2025, Somali referee Omar Artan has landed in Istanbul after being turned away upon arrival in the United States, where he was scheduled to officiate. Despite the challenging situation, he shared his gratitude:
“I feel very good now. I wanted to thank FIFA for supporting me all the way, and the Somali people also. So I’m very grateful to FIFA and to CAF too.”
